In their latest collection for Fall Winter 2024, Ujoh, under the creative direction of Mitsuru Nishizaki and ACO, explores fabric and form, drawing inspiration from Bruce Weber’s evocative “Men & Women” photographs of the 1980s, after which the collection is also titled. These images, celebrating the sensual pleasure of being enveloped in fabric, serve as a foundation for Ujoh’s interpretation of modern luxury for this Paris Fashion Week.
Ujoh’s design for this season is anchored in the contrast and harmony between movement and structure. Square-shaped drapes and deliberate fringes cascade from collars and hems, introducing a playful dynamism into each piece. The collection employs doeskin, traditionally reserved for formal attire, alongside glossy nylon taffeta, creating an interplay with matte wool textures.
Garments exhibit a nomadic elegance through free layering, combining bottoms with dresses and intertwining scarves with sleeves, offering a contemporary interpretation of versatility and style. Color defines the Ujoh Fall Winter 2024 collection’s aesthetic, with a palette that ranges from moss gray and ebony to steel gray and greige. These foundational hues are accentuated by vibrant touches of topaz, dusty purple, and mulberry.
