Sportswear brand Y-3 and Real Madrid have unveiled their latest collaboration, a Matchwear collection that fuses high fashion and elite sport. This partnership marks a continuation of the relationship between the two powerhouses, following a collaborative travel collection released earlier this year.
The collection showcases a premium range that embodies elegance and tradition, rooted in the heritage of both Real Madrid and Y-3. Central to its aesthetic is a signature rose motif, an homage to the early days of the adidas and Yohji Yamamoto collaboration. This choice of graphic, reminiscent of Yamamoto’s iconic design signature, infuses the collection with a sense of history and artistry.
At the heart of the collection is a striking purple 4th kit for Real Madrid’s Men’s and Women’s teams, designed with cutting-edge HEAT.RDY technology. This innovation ensures that players remain cool and dry, enhancing performance during critical moments on the pitch. The color purple, deeply ingrained in Real Madrid’s history, serves as a unifying theme across the collection, symbolizing the club’s rich past and bright future.
In addition to the on-pitch apparel, Y-3 has also crafted an array of fanwear items, including a T-shirt, hoodie, cross-body bag, cap, and scarf. These pieces reflect Y-3’s renowned savoir-faire, allowing fans to carry a piece of the collaboration’s spirit wherever they go. The collaboration also extends to footwear and accessories, with Y-3 and adidas introducing a special edition Predator boot and goalkeeper gloves.
Bringing the campaign to life is London-based photographer Gabriel Moses, whose visuals capture present-day Real Madrid icons like Naomie Feller, Jude Bellingham, David Alaba, and Misa Rodríguez. Through dynamic imagery, Moses narrates the legacy of Real Madrid, reimagined through the lens of Y-3’s design philosophy.
The Y-3 for Real Madrid Matchwear Collection is set to launch globally on March 27th, available through adidas.com/y-3, the CONFIRMED app, in-store at Real Madrid Official Stores, shop.realmadrid.com, and select retailers.
