Adidas introduced their latest design in athletic wear: the official team kits for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The designs are following each participating nation’s identity, created to express the passion that motivates every athlete. According to Jacqueline King, the Design Director at Adidas, these kits are not just apparel but a unifying symbol that connects athletes to their national identities through sleek, modern aesthetics. These uniforms are designed using a central story that illustrates a shared narrative across all sponsored teams, reflecting the universal enthusiasm for sports.

A significant feature of the Paris 2024 kits is their inclusivity. Adidas has implemented universal design principles to ensure that athletes with and without disabilities can perform at their best without discomfort or distraction. This approach is a commendable step towards inclusivity in sportswear, with 86% of all competition, podium, and village wear meeting these inclusive standards. The kits feature easy-to-understand graphics and impactful typefaces that highlight the ‘fire of passion’ theme, designed to resonate universally with all athletes.
Adidas’s dedication to understanding and enhancing the athlete’s experience is evident in their design process. The team kits for Paris 2024 are the culmination of extensive collaboration with athletes from various disciplines, ensuring that each piece of apparel caters to the specific needs of the sport. From the choice of fabric to the style of the prints, every detail is optimized for performance and comfort. The graphics used across the kits incorporate a repeated line pattern with bursts of color.
Alongside the team kits, Adidas has also launched a collection of footwear, the 2024 athlete pack, which includes 49 different shoes for 41 sporting disciplines. This range features a design with orange and pink outsoles against a subdued black upper, again emphasizing the theme of passion and vigor that defines the Olympic and Paralympic spirit. Available from April 19th on Adidas’s website and app, these collections offer athletes and fans a piece of the Olympic legacy and Adidas’s athlete-focused design.
