British luxury house Burberry has officially inducted South Korean actor Son Suk-ku into its global family as the latest brand ambassador. Son Suk-ku, acclaimed for his versatile acting across television and film, first made waves in 2021 starring in the hit Netflix series ‘D.P.‘ His portrayal of Mr. Gu in ‘My Liberation Notes‘ the following year earned him the Best New Actor award at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards. His rising star status was affirmed in 2022, leading him to the stage in ‘Army on a Tree‘ in 2023.
Reflecting the essence of Burberry’s brand, Son Suk-ku’s addition is seen as a strategic alignment with the luxury fashion house’s values. Initially pursuing a career as a documentary filmmaker at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Son’s path took a serendipitous turn towards acting in his early thirties. His debut came with a minor role in the thriller “Scarlet Innocence,” setting the stage for his future in acting.
Despite a late start, Son quickly made a mark with his distinctive presence and intense performances. His first significant breakthrough came with the indie film “Black Stone,” where he was 33.
