The Nike Air Max 1 ’86, a Tinker Hatfield classic, is returning with a fresh collaboration featuring the creative touch of Jacquemus. This latest iteration follows the successful relaunch of the Air Max 1 ’86 with its iconic “Big Bubble” Air unit, first seen on Air Max Day 2023. Jacquemus, known for its daring reimaginations of classic Nike designs, brings three colorways to this collaboration: White, Metallic Silver and Red.
The White variant features a leather base with perforated side panels for breathability and suede overlays and mesh construction for the silver and red pairs, all united by small metallic Swooshes and a distinctive mudguard with a raw edge and higher-than-standard top stitch.
SNEAKERS
All colorways prominently display Jacquemus branding on the heels, insoles, and co-branded hangtags, and include the signature Big Bubble Air Max heel units for optimal cushioning. The sneaker comes in exclusive packaging and an additional set of laces.
This collaboration continues Jacquemus’ tradition of honoring and innovating classic Nike footwear designs. Previous collaborations, such as the Air Humara and J Force 1 Low, have shown the brand’s ability to blend reverence and irreverence. The new Air Max 1 ’86 features unique modifications, including an altered toe bumper and a re-cut upper mudguard, creating a more angular look. The enlarged Air unit, revealed through a rectangular cut-out, has already sparked interest and debate among sneaker enthusiasts.
All three pairs are listed as “Coming Soon” on the Jacquemus website with an MSRP of $180. Take a closer look at the models in the Gallery below:
