The MM6 Maison Margiela x SALOMON collaboration gives us a new moment in the intersection of high fashion and technical footwear. This partnership kicks off with a fresh reinterpretation of the X-Alp hiking shoe for the Spring Summer 2024 collection. The MM6 design studio has conceptually refreshed the X-Alp, focusing on its aerodynamic shape and streamlining its technical details, offering unconventional perspectives on progressive design.
In this iteration, the X-Alp is presented in two new colorways that gives it a sharp edge. The shoes come in monochrome black and a palette of whites and creams, each contrasted with black details. This minimalist yet striking design approach enhances the shoe’s graphic silhouette, making it an urban classic. By toning down the technical aspects, MM6 Maison Margiela allows the shoe’s form to take center stage, emphasizing its sleek lines and aerodynamic profile.

The collaboration also brings a touch of artisanal flair to the high-tech footwear. The MM6 numeric signature logo appears unexpectedly on the shoe’s tongue, resembling a handmade stamp. This subtle yet distinctive detail complements the bold graphic of the SALOMON logo. The result is a shoe that is as visually intriguing as it is functionally robust.
Available from June 6th, the MM6 Maison Margiela x SALOMON X-Alp will be accessible through multiple channels. Consumers can find these shoes on both MM6 Maison Margiela and SALOMON’s e-commerce sites, as well as in selected MM6 and SALOMON stores. Additionally, the shoes will be available in selected multibrand stores, ensuring wide availability for those eager to own a piece of this innovative collaboration.
