Achilles Ion Gabriel, a Finnish-born designer, began his journey in footwear design in Finland before launching his namesake shoe label in Paris in 2012 while consulting for renowned brands such as Marni, Sunnei, and Marimekko. In June 2019, he was appointed Creative Director of CamperLab and took on the same role for Camper in August 2020, earning the Designer of the Year award at the 2022 Premios Icon ceremony by Icon El País in Madrid. In 2024, Gabriel embarks on a new endeavor with the launch of his Paris-based namesake brand, Achilles Ion Gabriel, focusing on gender-neutral ready-to-wear, footwear, and accessories. He debuted his collection at Pitti Uomo 105 in Florence on January 11, 2024, and continues to split his time between Camper’s HQ in Mallorca and his Paris studio.
