Apple TV+ has unveiled an early glimpse of its upcoming limited series “Disclaimer,” announcing its global debut on October 11, 2024. This seven-episode psychological thriller, based on Renée Knight‘s bestselling novel, promises to captivate audiences with its intricate narrative and stellar cast. The series will launch with two episodes, followed by weekly releases every Friday until November 15, 2024.
“Disclaimer” stars Academy Award winners Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline, under the direction of five-time Academy Award winner Alfonso Cuarón, who also penned the adaptation. The plot centers on acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett), known for exposing the secrets and misdeeds of others. Her life takes a dark turn when she receives a novel from an anonymous author, revealing that she is the protagonist of a story that unveils her deepest secrets.
As Catherine explores the mystery of the book’s origin, she must face her past, risking the disintegration of her personal life and the relationships with her husband Robert (played by Sacha Baron Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee). The series also features performances by Lesley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George, and Hoyeon.
Produced by Esperanto Filmoj and Anonymous Content, “Disclaimer” features a production team that includes Gabriela Rodriguez and David Levine as executive producers, alongside Cuarón. The visual storytelling is elevated by the expertise of Academy Award-winning cinematographers Emmanuel Lubezki and Bruno Delbonnel, who also serve as executive producers. The series’ haunting score is composed by Finneas O’Connell, a multiple Academy and Grammy Award winner.
Apple TV+ continues to build its reputation for high-quality original content, ranging from drama and comedy series to feature films and documentaries. Since its launch on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ has rapidly achieved critical acclaim, garnering 496 wins and 2,171 award nominations. The platform is home to celebrated titles such as the multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy “Ted Lasso” and the historic Oscar Best Picture winner “CODA.”
