CALCATERRA Spring Summer 25 collection, “Connessioni,” explores the intrinsic bond between humanity and the natural world. Inspired by the cycles of nature, the collection is built on the idea that we are all part of a larger biological system. Every piece reflects this theme, with designs that evoke the passage of time and the seamless connection between the wearer and the environment. Photographer Sohom Das captured backstage moments at the CALCATERRA Spring Summer 25 show, exclusively for DSCENE Magazine.

The collection takes inspiration from the four elements—Fire, Earth, Water, and Air—expressing them through dynamic shapes, colors, and textures. Fabrics like organza silk, cold-dyed cottons, and fil coupé capture the essence of nature’s elements. A standout piece, a blood-red dress with hand-woven silk chiffon fringes, mirrors the colors of a vibrant sunset and the fluidity of wind, making it a central look in the collection.
Lightness is a key feature throughout the collection, both in form and function. Traditional tailoring is reimagined with flowing silhouettes, particularly seen in the trousers that abandon structured elements like pockets and seams in favor of fluid drapes. These soft, organic shapes cling to the body, offering a sense of freedom and movement reminiscent of Josephine Baker’s iconic style, blending natural ease with sophisticated design.
Sustainability remains a cornerstone of CALCATERRA’s philosophy, with organic fabrics and natural dyes reflecting a commitment to the environment. Each piece feels as if it’s grown from the earth itself, embracing a slower, more intentional approach to fashion. By focusing on nature’s cycles and simplifying luxury, CALCATERRA offers a compelling vision of fashion that is both elegant and eco-conscious, challenging the industry’s fast-paced norms.
