Naeem Khan presented his Spring/Summer 2025 collection at The Angel Orensanz Foundation in New York City. Drawing inspiration from the Baroque architecture of Noto, Sicily, the coastlines of Puglia, and the vineyards of Mount Etna, Khan brought the vibrancy of southern Italy to the runway. His collection radiated with the warm colors of pink sunsets, sandy shores, and the calming blue of the Mediterranean Sea. Each piece captured the energy of the season, infused with the richness of these natural and architectural influences.
The color palette of the collection moved gracefully from crisp whites to shimmering metallics, soft pinks, purples, and finished with striking black sequins. Relaxed silhouettes and oversized fits characterized the designs, including tailored jackets with intricate Baroque-inspired embroidery, pants with fitted waists and flared hems, and designs with dramatic shoulders and asymmetrical cuts. Khan’s mastery of fabric and form was evident in the sophisticated tailoring of each piece.
The show’s finale paid tribute to the highly anticipated film WICKED, where Khan translated the personalities of Elphaba and Glinda into a vivid palette of green, pink, and black. The designs captured the contrasting journeys of the two characters, with strength and transformation being the key themes. This creative synergy between fashion and cinema brought a powerful close to the show, with Khan’s unique interpretation of the film’s narrative on full display.
Naeem Khan’s upbringing in Mumbai, where he was immersed in textiles and design, played a key role in shaping his artistic vision. After moving to the United States, Khan apprenticed under American designer Halston, refining his skills in draping and cutting fabric. His unique style, shaped by both his family’s legacy and his experience in modern fashion, continues to push the boundaries of design.
Production for the event was led by John Martinez, with music by Coleman, and casting curated by Julian Williams. Lead makeup artist Georgi Sandev for Zo Skin Health, hair stylist Joseph DiMaggio for Rica Haircare, and nail artist Pattie Yankee and Team PYP added finishing touches to the presentation. Footwear by Manolo Blahnik complemented the collection’s aesthetic, creating a cohesive look for the runway.
