The Art Basel Shop is set to make its Paris debut at the Grand Palais from October 16 to 20, unveiling a selection of exclusive lifestyle products that merge the worlds of art, design, fashion, and publishing. Launched in June 2024 at Art Basel’s Swiss fair, this concept store celebrates the intersection of art and commerce by offering limited-edition collectibles and bespoke items. Curated by renowned French tastemaker Sarah Andelman, co-founder of the iconic Parisian store colette, the shop will showcase collaborations with prestigious brands such as Guerlain, Uniqlo x Musée du Louvre, Lafayette Anticipations, Parley for the Oceans, and Paris Saint-Germain Football Club.
The Art Basel Shop in Paris is particularly notable for its focus on the fair’s heritage line, AB by Art Basel, which honors the visual legacy of the fair since its inception in 1970. The Paris edition will debut a capsule collection inspired by the 1975 yearbook cover, adding streetwear, accessories, and design objects that feature the Art Basel Paris 2024 branding and Art is… visual campaign. French artist Nina Childress’s portrait of the iconic singer and actress Dalida will also play a key role in the collection’s design, blending the artistic history of Paris with contemporary fashion.
One of the main highlights of the Paris Art Basel Shop is the launch of the AB by Artist collection, which introduces a limited-edition line developed with the Paris-based artist collective Claire Fontaine. Known for their series Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere, the collective’s work challenges the notion of identity and belonging in the globalized world. The limited-edition apparel and accessories featuring Claire Fontaine’s artwork will only be available at the Paris pop-up, making these items highly coveted. In addition to its fashion and accessory offerings, the Art Basel Shop will also feature a diverse selection of books and art publications, curated to reflect the broader themes of the fair.
