Diesel has launched its FW24 campaign, titled “Break the Box,” offering an escape from the constraints of everyday life. This campaign invites viewers to step into a world filled with freedom, showcasing characters who embody the spirit of liberation and self-expression. With its eye-catching visuals and provocative themes, “Break the Box” encourages a departure from the mundane.

The campaign represents the latest collaboration between Diesel’s creative director Glenn Martens and art director Christopher Simmonds, building on the runway concept of observing and being observed. Photographer Paul Kooiker captures the interplay between voyeurism and exhibitionism through the lens of a woman confined to a dull office environment. As she gazes at a lively group of characters depicted in a television, the yearning for a more vibrant existence becomes evident.
Against the backdrop of cardboard walls, the campaign features a diverse cast of models encompassing various ages, races, and genders, along with unexpected inclusions like a baby and a chihuahua. This eclectic group dances, poses, and expresses themselves to the pulsating beats of techno music, creating a dynamic scene.
Central to the campaign are the fashion pieces from Diesel’s FW24 runway and pre-collection, which cleverly play with perceptions and deliver surprise elements. The collection features minimalistic Soft Tailoring in dark, coated denim that contrasts with the carefree body language of the models. Additional highlights include acid rain prints, Treatment denim, puffers, camo animal prints, and oversized shaggy faux furs. Burnout devoré denim, Diesel underwear, and vibrant, distressed pop prints on crop tops and mini skirts add a touch of hedonistic element to the collection.
Accessories also play a significant role in the campaign, enhancing its vibrant narrative. A new iteration of the Play bag, crafted in pony hair leopard print, makes a striking statement alongside the D-Sruptor watch, featuring a striking green iridescent crystal face. Completing the look are bold black and silver chain necklaces and bracelets, as well as shield-like metallic mirrored wraparound sunglasses developed in collaboration with Essilor Luxottica.
The title “Break the Box” encapsulates a deeper exploration of desire, emphasizing the tension between superficial appearances and internal impulses. It challenges conventional norms and invites viewers to acknowledge the many desires that coexist within them.
