Julie de Libran’s Spring Summer 2025 Haute Couture show transported audiences into a world where medieval fantasy met contemporary elegance. Presented in Paris, the collection blended rugged rawness with refined sophistication, drawing inspiration from knightly undergarments while reinterpreting them for the modern woman.

The palette set the tone with shades of iced brown, copper, navy blue, and bronze, evoking an air of medieval romance. Metallic effects shimmered through lurex tweeds and panne velvet, adding subtle luster to the silhouettes. Chains emerged as a defining motif, accentuating the collection’s warrior-like spirit. They adorned oversized hooded coats, served as intricate belt-like vests, and were embroidered onto garments like gilded breastplates, embodying the strength and power of Libran’s imagined amazons.

Unexpected details added layers of intrigue to the collection. Lace, traditionally delicate, embraced an armour-like quality when draped over a bare back, while a feather boa was transformed into a bolero, worn over structured coats. These opulent touches blurred the lines between eras, crafting a woman who exists outside of time, commanding attention with her mystery and resilience.
Textures played a pivotal role, as raw cuts contrasted with luxurious materials like cashmere and llama. This interplay gave the pieces a dual identity—both rugged and refined, embodying the essence of Libran’s couture philosophy. Accessories, such as aged, gilded brass jewelry, further enhanced the medieval narrative, lending an artisanal depth to the collection.

The show also featured a special moment as Lila Dupont performed in Paris for the first time, her presence adding an ethereal quality to the event. Dedicated to Libran’s friend and icon, Dayle Haddon, the presentation carried an emotional resonance, reflecting Libran’s deep connections and personal inspirations.
With this collection, Julie de Libran delivered a couture narrative that was as imaginative as it was wearable. By weaving medieval influences into contemporary silhouettes, she created a timeless vision of strength, elegance, and individuality—one that captivates and defies conventional eras.
