Audi is introducing a new variant to the Q4 e-tron lineup, bringing an entry-level option with extended range and advanced technology. The Q4 40 e-tron is equipped with a 63 kWh battery, offering a driving range of up to 412 kilometers (256.0 miles) for the standard model and 423 kilometers (262.8 miles) for the Sportback version. With a DC fast-charging capacity of 165 kW, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes under ideal conditions. Orders for the model will open in mid-February.
Performance and Efficiency
The Q4 40 e-tron accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 8.1 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h (99.4 mph). The vehicle is powered by a permanently excited synchronous motor (PSM) delivering 150 kW (204 PS) to the rear axle. This configuration ensures efficient energy use while maintaining strong acceleration and consistent power delivery. The towing capacity is rated at 1,000 kilograms (2,205 lbs) on a 12 percent incline and 1,200 kilograms (2,645 lbs) on an 8 percent incline.

Charging and Maintenance Features
Charging efficiency has been further refined with a manual battery preconditioning option accessible through the MMI system. This feature allows drivers to optimize the battery’s temperature before charging, ensuring peak performance at any station. Additionally, a predictive maintenance system has been integrated, providing real-time updates on essential vehicle components via the myAudi app. Customers can monitor the condition of parts such as brake pads and the 12-volt battery, while authorized dealers receive automated notifications for scheduling service appointments.

Connectivity and Smart Integration
The latest Q4 e-tron variant is equipped with the Audi application store, offering direct access to a range of news, entertainment, and navigation services without requiring a smartphone connection. A built-in 25 GB data package, activated through Cubic Telecom, enables fast access to these features. Navigation tools include customizable charging station filters, allowing users to select preferred providers and define charge levels upon arrival. The smartphone interface connects wirelessly or via USB-C, ensuring smooth content transfer to the MMI touch display.
The model also incorporates ChatGPT-powered voice control through the Azure OpenAI Service. This upgraded system enables drivers to manage infotainment, navigation, and climate controls using natural voice commands, reducing distractions and enhancing safety. The integration is supported by Cerence Inc.’s Chat Pro solution, ensuring automotive-grade AI performance.
