Fashion house Melke presented its Fall Winter 2025.26 collection in a setting that felt more like a social gathering than a typical fashion show. Inspired by the Midwestern supper club, the event replaced the standard runway with an immersive experience where models moved through a carefully staged environment, mingling among guests seated at dining tables. The unconventional presentation reflected designer Emma Gage’s connection to Minnesota, infusing the event with warmth and humor.

Backstage, the atmosphere was just as inviting. Fashion photographer Katie Borrazzo captured spontaneous moments where models and guests laughed, chatted, and embraced the playful nature of the presentation. The atmosphere was closer to a casual gathering than the usual behind-the-scenes frenzy, with board games scattered across tables and vintage furniture encouraging guests to settle in.

The collection itself embraced nostalgia, with a palette of deep browns, forest greens, and mustard yellows reminiscent of classic Midwestern interiors. Plaid appeared in multiple iterations, from structured blazers to casual shirtdresses, reinforcing a sense of familiarity. One standout look featured a pair of trousers lined with silver spoons along the seams, a tongue-in-cheek reference to supper club dining. Another incorporated pencil fringe, adding movement to a structured silhouette. These elements played into Melke’s signature mix of eccentricity and wearability, bringing unexpected details into everyday clothing.
Soft tailoring remained a key focus, with relaxed blazers layered over pleated skirts and textured knits. Crisp button-down shirts, some embroidered with delicate motifs, grounded the collection in practicality while allowing room for experimentation. Accessories leaned into the theme, with handbags mimicking diner checkbooks and caps embroidered with supper club logos. Footwear choices ranged from classic leather boots to whimsical heeled loafers, bridging the gap between nostalgia and contemporary style.

Rather than adhering to a singular aesthetic, Melke balanced elements of Midwestern comfort with the sharper attitude of New York dressing. The result was a collection that felt deeply personal yet universally inviting, offering both structure and playfulness in equal measure. By turning the show into an experience rather than a spectacle, Gage reinforced the brand’s core ethos – fashion as a form of storytelling, community, and humor.
