David Koma marks 15 years of his namesake brand with a Fall Winter 2025 collection that sharpens, refines, and expands on his signature aesthetic. Without dwelling on nostalgia, the designer channels the past into a forward-thinking display of precision and power. This season, he takes his established codes, sculptural silhouettes, daring embellishments, and architectural details, and pushes them further, transforming familiar elements into statement pieces that feel both recognizable and completely new.
Modernized 1950s-inspired shapes bring structure to the collection. The house’s signature architectural neckline, first introduced in Koma’s Central Saint Martins graduate collection, reappears with fresh proportions. Nipped-in waists contrast with exaggerated hips, creating an expressive balance of form. Transparency plays a key role, with sheer tulle gowns and extended trains continuing David Koma exploration of movement and sensuality.

Leather dominates the collection in supple, fluid forms, evolving beyond its traditional use. An oversized coat with cascading fringe shifts hypnotically with every step, while floor-length draped skirts reinterpret eveningwear with a modern perspective. Sequins, a house signature, take on new life as structured column gowns, amplifying volume at the hips. A bubble skirt dress, crafted from stretch lycra and crinkle taffeta, introduces a sporty edge to a typically feminine silhouette.
The polka dot motif, a recurring theme in Koma’s past work, returns with high-impact texture and layering. Silver discs float on sheer gowns, creating a liquid-like effect, while matte leather versions stack together in a corseted mini dress that reads almost like modern armor. Sequin discs embroidered onto fringing bring movement to the polka dot theme, shifting as the wearer moves. Feathers, another house staple, transform into clustered embellishments across sheer gowns and pom-pom-inspired scarves, giving texture a new level of dynamism.

Bows dominate the collection in dramatic, sculptural expressions. Voluminous taffeta versions cinch the waist, creating exaggerated skirts, while others drape sharply across tailored jackets. Some are positioned lower on the back, injecting a playful sensuality into otherwise structured looks. Koma’s fascination with royal opulence resurfaces through jewel embellishments. Oversized gemstones cascade asymmetrically down bodices or accentuate the sharp lines of structured necklines. These embellishments, bold yet deliberate, introduce a commanding presence, bringing an almost warrior-like energy to the collection.
The palette remains loyal to monochromatic contrasts, reinforcing the brand’s visual identity. Black and white anchor the collection, creating a crisp foundation for the detailed construction of each piece. A single, electrifying shade of Klein blue cuts through the lineup, delivering an intense shot of vibrancy against the otherwise controlled color story.
