HUI Fall Winter 2025 stitches together past and future, art and craftsmanship, East and West. This collection, shown during Milan Fashion Week, transforms the act of weaving into a symbol of connection. A special installation at the show brings this vision to life, where ancient embroidery techniques take on new meaning through contemporary design.
During the performance The Guardians of Light, artisans dressed in traditional attire embroider porcelain in front of the audience, embodying the preservation of time and memory. Guests actively participate, taking a piece of the installation with them or tying a red thread, a symbol of fate, as an act of personal expression. The invitation is clear: Weave Your Light. Be Brave, Be Yourself.

Beyond the walls of Palazzo Clerici, the concept extends through The Weaving of Light, a project led by the HUI Foundation. This initiative unites generations and cultures, bridging artistic expression and social impact. LeSciure of Coltivare la Città, a collective of women dedicated to community well-being, joins young Chinese participants under the guidance of artist-therapist Yuan Yuan. Together, they weave red threads onto ceramic fragments, turning fractures into symbols of resilience.
This artistic project remains open for public viewing until March 31 at the HUI showroom in Via Tortona 14, Milan, reinforcing the message that craftsmanship and human connection transcend fashion.

HUI FW25 draws inspiration from the myth of dawn and the rising sun, blending Eastern mythology with Western art history to convey renewal. The collection reflects the brand’s dedication to integrating Chinese cultural elements into contemporary fashion, redefining classic motifs for a modern audience.
Qing Dynasty embroideries of the sun and clouds, once symbols of imperial authority, appear in layers of semi-transparent organza, mimicking the effect of sunlight breaking through clouds. The soft interplay of fabric and detail invites the wearer into a space where tradition and modernity coexist.

The collection continues its exploration deep into the valleys of Guizhou, where textiles hold profound cultural meaning. The Bouyei minority’s earth fabric patterns reflect a respect for nature, while the geometric brocade motifs narrate migration and evolving communities. Miao embroidery speaks to devotion, storytelling through intricate patterns that have endured for generations.
Weavers in Bouyei villages carefully select locally grown cotton, crafting textiles with intricate spirals that symbolize the cycle of life. Brocade artisans rely on natural dyes sourced from the mountains, weaving designs that represent stars, the sun, the moon, and landscapes, expressing a deep connection to the environment. Miao artisans stitch butterflies and birds, symbols of freedom and renewal, further reinforcing the collection’s central theme of light.
