Technology, tradition and Italian craftsmanship, are the factors shaping the spring summer 2015 Fendi collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi. The entire collection was made entirely in the studios of the Roman maison.
The Palace of Italian Civilization, and the new headquarters of Fendi, and its architecture inspired by the collection, the modularity of the prints is vaguely reminiscent of the arches of this building, to make it clear that inspiration was the scene of the fashion show, a reconstruction of the building covered the walls of the runway; also another source of inspiration were the first metaphysical works of DeChirico. The new garments showcase the celebration of the union between the teachers furriers and new technologies. Every detail on clothing becomes precious, orchids embroidered or inlaid on fur bring on the artful sentiment, while the origami flower in soft leather bomber jacket emphasizes the light garment. Fendi also showcases organza ruffled feather effect, maxi skirts in tulle panels as well as maxi bracelets braided leather and hair clips in the shape of orchid – in which we see a creative use of the tail of the reptile. Strappy sandals are high-heeled or flat while the eyewear sports the cat-eye trend. The accessories spotlight handbags and mini peekaboo and not to forget the micro clutch with fur inserts. – review by our Rome contributing editor Nicolas Martin Garcia
