Wooyoungmi celebrates the fall winter with a stellar selection of season appropriate nuances, with a colour palette enhancing the elegant lines sent down the runway. The collection was presented during the recently wrapped up Paris Fashion Week.
For AW15 Creative Directors Madame Woo and Katie Chung envisage the WOOYOUNGMI man against a cityscape, exploring the classic elements of the WOOYOUNGMI wardrobe. Influenced by Chung’s feel for relaxed luxury and elegance, this season sees the designers continue a narrative of longer proportions, softer fabrics and oversizing. Together they study the elements that have long been part of the brand DNA: fabrics, tailoring and outerwear, and explore the meeting points of their design perspectives. Suits, still precise in their construction, become undone in style, worn loose on the body, layered over deep V-necks, baring skin. Felt, a fabric long associated with the brand, is softened and made warmer as a result of its finishing. The traditional palette of grey, burgundy, camel and blue becomes new here in muted tones. Colours and fabrics are eagerly mixed rather than matched. – from WOOYOUNGMI

The clean lines elongate the outfits in a chic manner, the high waist pant takes the spotlight, while the garments are often over-sized. Nevertheless the oversize moment gives a refreshing note of elegance to Wooyoungmi‘s latest designs.
