“I always wanted to be called Maximilian or Augustus. For a long time I did not like my name and where I come from. I wanted to come from somewhere like Rome. Today I’m okay with it all. This I want to express with the collection.
I play with colours. Lust, desire, sex and even sadness are best expressed through colours. The older I get the more sensual I feel.” – Andreas Kronthaler
“In summer in the Tyrol, in the cowshed, Andreas took the names of the cows for the names of the dresses in this collection; one is Naomi, one is Vivienne after me – I helped to deliver her; then Donatella, Riana, Music, Uganda, Fleur …
Next at the lake of Attersee we went to see Gexie of the house of Tostmann, friend and expert in folk costume, to choose fabrics. He asked her to make his couture designs of the Dirndl. I spent the last couple of days in England, hand-painting his graphics onto some beautiful satin dresses + suits + now I’ve arrived at the fitting in Paris seeing all the collection for the first time.” – Vivienne Westwood
