Italian designer Luca Magliano presented Magliano‘s Spring Summer 2020 menswear collection, inspired by an idea of Mediterranean’s necessity-driven community, on Saturday June 15th during the recently finished Milan Fashion Week.
SPRING SUMMER 2020 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
“The main influences of the collection are ancient Greece and its myths, including noticeably the myth of Europa, the ancient vases’ erotic ornaments, the 80s and 90s house culture, Paola Revenioti’s Kraximo, Princess Magnifique on a Mykonos beach, and obviously Pier Vittorio Tondelli’s Altri Libertini.
Clothes become pagan rituals. Elegance at its best given the condition of isolation. Great focus on the symbolic parure. The developments include clothes of whimsical performance or even celibataire, primary prints, crippled laces, acid combinations, freak knitwear, the twine. The anthropological understanding of the characters is the main trait of the brand’s expression: the Italian on holiday, the ball queen, the urban dandy dressed à la turk, the clubber, the freakkettone. Similar to Frankenstein, its universes are allergic to each other and yet generate a magical aspect in realism.“
