Presentation: Ancuta Sarca Spring Summer 2020
Ancuta Sarca is a Romanian-born, London based designer who has quickly gained international recognition by up-cycling old trainers with vintage heels- to create what i-d describes as ‘the shoe of the summer.’ Sarca is a passionate advocate for circular design, resisting fast fashion and proposing her reworked kitten heels as an eco-friendly alternative. Sarca studied ba and ma in fashion design at the art and design university of cluj0napoca, Romania, graduation in 2015. During her master’s studies she undertook a placement with British label Meadham Kirchhof, and after graduating she began working for Ashish in his London studio. This summer sees her embark on a journey to grow her own personal vision. Sarca’s exclusive partnership with London based concept store lncc launches today. Spring Summer 2020 is Ancuta Sarca’s debut with fashion east.

Catwalk Show: Gareth Wrighton Spring Summer 2020
Gareth Wrighton works between a variety of media including knitwear, tailoring, photography and computer modelling, producing work that examines the touch of hand in the digital age. Through his work, the central saint martins graduate takes on the globalisation of garment production, and the impact of fast fashion on the communities in which it is made and consumed. A dedication to sustainability in fashion and do-it-yourself maker movements manifest in bespoke, one-off pieces that antagonise an industry led by overconsumption. Wrighton graduated from the ba fashion communication and promotion course at central saint martins in 2016. His graduate project, an online store called “the maul,” envisioned post- apocalyptic zombie killers as armed video game characters; a dystopian take on luxury e-commerce. Accompanying the collection and online shop was an interactive video game that had the player run around the abandoned shopping ‘maul,’ littered with mannequins and corpses wearing virtual renderings of the handmade collection. The maul is being relaunched in late 2019, as a further dig on the state of fast fashion going into the 2020s. Spring Summer 2020 is Wrighton’s second season with fashion east’s support.
Catwalk Show: Yuhan Wang Spring Summer 2020
Yuhan Wang originates from Weihai China and trained at central saint martin’s where she was awarded the first runner-up of the L’Oreal young talent award in 2016 and showcased her masters collection during London fashion week in February 2018. Wang’s collections are inspired by traditional Chinese ideas of femininity and its connections to western culture, exploring the line between coverage and exposure. “beauty with weirdness, softness, delicacy and sensibility” says Yuhan. Wang’s industry experience includes interning at JW Anderson and Oscar de la Renta. Spring summer 2020 will be Yuhan Wang’s third season showcasing with fashion east. Yuhan Wang autumn winter 2019 is available to buy from H.Lorenzo, Dover street market New York & Los Angeles. Spring Summer 2020 is Yuhan Wang’s third season with fashion east’s support.
