In response to the killing and police brutality towards black Americans, Netflix has added a Black Lives Matter section to its genre tab. When you log onto Netflix, you will see a carefully curated list of titles that tell the complex and layered stories about racial injustice and Blackness in America. ?

The selection features over 45 titles, including Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods; Ava DuVernay’s 13th and When They See Us, Dee Rees’ Mudbound, Barry Jenkins’ Oscar winning title Moonlight, Dear White People, Orange Is the New Black and many more.
With an understanding that our commitment to true, systemic change will take time – we’re starting by highlighting powerful and complex narratives about the Black experience. – says a statement on Netflix’s official Twitter account.
