Discover Nanushka‘s Resort 2021 Human/Nature (Part 1: Reflection) collection that was inspired by the nature’s transformative influence on human lives. The collection pays homage to natural life, sustainability, and the environment, with looks made from 100% recycled mesh jersey and FSC-certified satin to organic cotton, regenerated leather and repurposed faux-fur.
Fashion photographer Esther Theaker captured Nanushka’s Resort 2021 lookbook featuring Nora Attal and Babacar N’doye. In charge of creative direction and styling was Alexandra Carl, with set design from Samuel Pidgen, and casting direction by Julia Lange. Beauty is work of hair stylist David Harborow, and makeup artist Janeen Witherspoon.
“As a nod to the relationship between human and nature, the collection is defined by a strong sense of utility and purpose. Organic shapes, rusticity and imperfection play out across womenswear in the form of cut-out tops and dresses, ruched skirts and twist-front tailoring, and across menswear in the form of relaxed, deconstructed suiting, workwear-inspired outerwear and louche separates. There’s a balance between sea-washed finishes, earthy tones and vibrantly active materials like fish-net, open weave and twill. An idea of craft designed to work with and for nature imbues and permeates the collection, even down to the hardware inspired by fishing communities and the powerful Ama women of Japan.” – from Nanushka
