Fashion brand MARRKNULL presented the Spring Summer 2021 collection, inspired by Chinese 1980s movie In the Wild Mountains directed by Yan XueShu, on September 18th, as part of the ongoing London Fashion Week. The collection explores the authentic, and the primitive but strong female power, inspired by the movie’s rough life scenes of two women fighting for life.
SPRING SUMMER 2021 WOMENSWEAR COLLECTION
“We try to combine the agility and tension of female power into MARRKNULL’s iconic space dislocation design. We spliced different parts of the clothing on the same plane to form a sense of illusion of one dress and multiple way to wear. Splicing the hem in three directions not only forms a striking X shape on the plane, but also provides a new angle for the silhouette of clothing.
The cross stitching of two forms of a piece of clothing is a more radical expression of this concept. Have you ever imagined that a pair of pants can run across your legs? Have you ever imagined that a dress can run across your waist? This is the exploration and challenge of the way of wearing. In addition, you can also see the diagonal series that seems to float on the body. This series is a more flat expression of the space dislocation design.” – from Marrknull
