The Gagosian Boutique at the Burlington Arcade in London features a Richard Prince takeover (May 10–28, 2022), the presentation includes the artist’s books, posters, as well as other merchandise, with a special selection from the Katz + Dogg line created by Prince in collaboration with Darren Romanelli. American artist also unveiled a recent painting (2021) and a grouping of High Times drawings (2019) that have never before been exhibited. The takeover coincides with Richard Prince: Hoods, 1988–2013 exhibition in New York.
Darren has been collecting materials over the last 6/7 years and working them into capsule collections release alongside Richard Prince’s exhibitions at Gagosian. The new takeover features a few of the past releases from over the years including an assortment of T-shirts and sweatshirts. The sweatshirts in the vitrines are vintage champion reverse weave that has been screen printed and some have hand-embroidered details while others feature vintage patches, each one is unique of course. The chairs and Ottomans have been made from different vintage Darren has been collecting, mixed with some of those older screen prints. Everything is made from vintage materials, even the stuffing is recycled scraps of foam from the factory Darren works with.
