Earlier this spring, rumors of adidas Yeezy 350 ‘Turtle Dove’ making a return this year spread across the Internet like wildfire. After a first look at the “Turtle Dove” emerged back in April, the brand has not yet confirmed the release date, but it’s thought to be coming back as part of ‘Yeezy Day 2022’ on August 1st and 2nd.

There was a rumor in 2018 that the silhouette is restocking, when adidas posted the official product images on its social media, but turned out to be just a throwback. One of the most coveted Yeezy sneakers out there whipped the fans into a frenzy once again this spring, when one of the Yeezy leaker profiles, @yeezymic, posted a few photos of a ‘Turtle Dove’ fabric last week. Even thought the brand has not confirmed the release, there is a chance that another fan-favorite style could make its highly anticipated comeback.
The second silhouette from adidas Yeezy collaboration, the Yeezy Boost 350, debuted on June 27, 2015, through a worldwide release of a two colorways – “Turtle Dove” and “Pirate Black”. This was the first time brand introduced its, now signature, primeknit technology, that uses a flat knitting machinery amalgamated with synthetic yarns. It was made of a combination of petroleum-based ethylene-vinyl acetate with algae generated foam.
The first ever Yeezy 350 colorway, “Turtle Dove” has debuted on June 27, 2015 as a very limited edition and quickly became one of the most valuable models on the secondary market. It is rumored that this release will come in a larger quantity, but as all the other Yeezy models, it is expected to sell out quickly. If you don’t want to wait for the rerelease, the adidas Yeezy 350 ‘Turtle Dove’ is currently available at GOAT and Flight Club with the prices starting from $999.
The debut colorway featured a Primeknit upper in black and cream white tones with a white rubber midsole that wraps around full-length Boost foam cushioning for added durability and support. The heel tab includes a red stripe to complete the clean look. The minimalist silhouette is almost identical to its 2015 counterpart, while some of the comments on Instagram say that its overall shape is a little bit different from the first release.

The model actually had its first rerelease in a form of cleats, when Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins made an appearance in a 2016 NFL kickoff game, wearing the Adidas Yeezy 350 ‘Turtle Dove’ Football Boost cleat. Hopkins was fined $6,000 for wearing the cleats because they broke the NFL uniform policy – as they did not have a solid base color, which is the rule of the league. This was officially Kanye West’s debut into the performance footwear market, and despite the controversy, it was highly successful, as the cleats sold out online in less than 24 hours after the game.
Adidas Yeezy 350 ‘Turtle Dove’ was first seen on Kanye and his models at the Yeezy Season 1 fashion show in 2015, and remained on the throne since then. When it dropped online in June the same year, the ‘Turtle Dove’ sold out instantly. Since then, the fans are waiting for the rerelease, and now it is potentially dropping this summer.
