Theory has released the debut capsule collection by Lucas Ossendrijver. The men’s and women’s collections went on sale worldwide today, and they convey a relaxed yet uncompromising elegance. A dynamic city wardrobe created for modern life is one of the options the imaginative Dutch designer gives for daily life. The capsule is a part of Theory Project, a space where top talent is brought together to improve the brand.
CAPSULE COLLECTIONS

Ossendrijver’s collection provides shapes that combine comfort and mobility as we explore the limits of our work/life balance. These practical fashion suggestions embrace a laid-back sartorial style that is emphasized by a methodical commitment to simplicity. The collection, which was inspired by New York, presents a fluid interpretation of city workwear with countless style options. It is meant to live and move on the streets.

In New York, I always feel a sense of purpose. People are always going places, and their attitude and the way they dress reflects this. The styling is a mix that feels accidental and blurs categories. It’s the unexpected element that inspires me. – says Ossendrijver.

The collection, which is an evolution of Theory’s renowned tailoring, forges new ground by modernizing classic suiting and outerwear with lightness and volume. Japanese and Italian mills create coordinated suit separates from soft, unlined blazers to long, single-breasted jackets with French seams using wool flannel, gabardine, and recycled technological fabrics. Large jackets with hidden buttons and flexible shoulders embrace the jewel-toned layers.

By juxtaposing traditional tailoring fabrics with quilted panels, collapsible hoods, and thermo-bonded zips and seams that convert practical features into chic design statements, bomber jackets and parkas balance our external and interior lives.
Drawstring hoodies and anoraks embrace technology by mixing knits, satin, and terry cotton with scuba and recycled nylon. The casual élan of the collection is supported by the single-pleated trousers and practical 5-pocket pants, which are paired with flowing shirts in wool jersey and multi-stripe shirting in crisp cotton poplin.

The women’s collection emphasizes femininity with careful draping in plissé column skirts and an asymmetrical, bias-cut mod skirt. The tiered silk skirts are intended to be worn under camp shirts because of their flounce sleeves and tie necklines. In other outfits, vulcanized velvet trainers and patent penny loafers with a neoprene tongue are paired with a side-buttoned wool pencil skirt.

I am drawn to Theory because we both believe in empowering people—making their life easier and making them feel good about themselves. Because of Theory’s scale and the purposefulness of the products, the clothes have real impact. It’s not about creating editorial looks that look great in an image or on a catwalk—It’s a product that lives on the street. – states Ossendrijver.

The Fall 2022 collection by Ossendrijver features ready-to-wear for both men and women, as well as footwear and accessories. The price range from $95 to $1,195 USD.
