RESORT 2023 COLLECTIONS
This season, we’ve focused on the uncomplicated, working with fresh silhouettes that are more sleek and clean-lined. Our team has been experimenting with new fabrics and techniques whilst also looking at diversifying self-portrait’s product offering – introducing more separates and denim, with everyday styles designed to slip on and go. It’s been a very rewarding collection to work on as we’ve continued to build on the brand’s existing staples by stripping back and creating pieces that are much more pure in design. – Han Chong, Self-Portrait Founder and Creative Director
“Evening styles are cut with clean sharp shapes. Bonded crepe fabrics create structured silhouettes in bold colours. Minimalist column skirts in heavy crepe sit below sweetheart necklines. Ruched jersey dresses in rich jewel tones are embellished with rhinestones. Chiffon styles in pastel hues reveal delicate lace inserts around the neckline and sleeves whilst black power mesh styles include fine lace on ruched fabric. High shine sequins overlay a mesh fabric, newly developed in-house, and is applied to bias-cut designs. Lace styles are updated in soft colourways and a lilac mesh is embroidered with lace inspired motifs. An oversized shirt embellished with rhinestones and matching shorts in vivid blues and a shocking pink can be worn day to night. Traditional Broderie Anglaise fabrics are interpreted in vibrant colours – a classic shirt is paired with matching shorts, while an effortless shift dress is offered in white and a shocking pink. A dégradé print comes in a midi and mini dress.
A black sequin knit is finished with a gold trim in co-ord sets. Signature melange knitwear is offered in pink, red and navy with sequinned rope trim detailing. Lurex knit dresses in acid hues feature feminine cut outs at the centre front whilst more relaxed and clean styles are offered in earthy tones, using a new rib technique. Familiar tailoring styles are updated in a metallic pink bouclé with beaded trims and crystal buttons. A crop top and jacket can be worn separately or with a mini skirt. Monochromatic pieces are uplifted with feminine details – a long sleeved cropped jacket with a peplum hem, a tuxedo dress with cut outs at the side. Tailored guipure lace styles feature a braided sequin trim. Denim pieces in a classic rinse wash are finished with a scalloped-edge – a mini dress with a frilled hem and exposed zip through the centre front, a high-waisted mini skirt and high-waisted shorts. A cropped jacket and skirt co-ord are finished with a contrasting braided trim around the pockets and edges.” – from Self-Portrait
