Fear of God has collaborated with German heritage brand Birkenstock on a new footwear model “Los Feliz”, inspired by the unique hillside enclaves of Los Angeles. The sandal is designed by FOG’s Jerry Lorenzo and developed exclusively with Birkenstock 1774, the brand’s special projects and collaboration unit.
SHOES
The design honors Birkenstock’s functional heritage and evoke Fear of God’s inimitable, timeless design language, with a deep heel cup, raw edge outsole, as well as an exaggerated, monolithic strap closure that accentuates the shoe’s minimal look and feel. Fear Of God is quite selective when it comes to web pages you can purchase their pieces on, however you can find their sandals already on fashion site and shop Grailed.
We are pleased to join forces with Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God for an effortlessly versatile collection of elevated craftsmanship. The Los Feliz sandal is a sleek and tangible expression of both brands shared guiding principles of intentionality and inclusivity. By fusing the Birkenstock footbed and single strap design with Fear of God’s distinct and refined aesthetic, we continue to foster innovation with likeminded visionaries.
– said Birkenstock CEO Oliver Reichert states.
It’s easy, elevated fluidity defines Fear of God’s design language, yet retains the purity and beauty of Birkenstock’s iconic silhouettes. The model features deep heel cup, raw edge outsole, as well as an exaggerated, monolithic strap closure that accentuates the shoe’s minimal look and feel.
The model comes in two versions – calf suede and wool felt. The Los Feliz in suede is offered in three color-ways: Ash, Cement and Taupe; while The Los Feliz in wool felt is offered in two colorways: Cement Melange and Ash Melange.
The models will be available exclusively at Fearofgod.com, 1774.com, and select Birkenstock retail locations on January 25 (for suede model) and February 22 (for wool felt).
Birkenstock is a brand that has been around for centuries (literally), not just decades or even years; hence, tradition and heritage are significant identifiers of the company. Birkenstock is firmly ingrained in the trade of making shoes of the highest possible quality that are also beneficial to your health. Since 1774, this devotion has been handed down from one generation of Birkenstock family members to the next. The company is proud even to offer an end product that is unparalleled in terms of quality as well as comfort and support.
The shoe features a deep heel cup, a raw edge outsole, as well as an exaggerated, monolithic strap clasp that emphasizes the shoe’s minimal appearance and sensation. Specific design references include these elements. The Los Feliz features a trademark cork and latex footbed that is wrapped in tonal suede and is available in premium uppers made of calf suede or wool felt from BIRKENSTOCK.
The Los Feliz is the first ever BIRKENSTOCK 1774 collaboration shoe to be offered in children’s sizing, and it is manufactured in Germany. The Los Feliz is available in both adult and children’s sizes. The adult version has a larger profile, five different hues that are easy to wear, and a sole that is 10 millimeters thick and manufactured from TPU translucent rubber. This accent gives the Los Feliz a more refined air while also serving as a subtle homage to Fear of God’s distinctive footwear and the well-known practicality and longevity of Birkenstock products.
The Los Feliz for adults is made of suede, and it is available in three colorways: Ash, Cement, and Taupe. Beginning on January 25, it will be sold exclusively on the websites Fearofgod.com and 1774.com, and on January 27, it will be sold at select retailers across the world.
