Fashion house AKRIS celebrates its 100th anniversary with new exhibition at the Museum fur Gestaltung in Zurich – Akris.Fashion.selbstverständlich. The exhibition which opened to the public on Friday May 12th will end on September 24th 2023. There are only a handful of fashion houses in the world that can claim a century-long family tradition. Akris is the only Swiss brand that shows at Paris Fashion Week, and its clear lines, tangible fabric innovations, and unexpected themes make it stand out. The brand upholds a sensual minimalist culture. Creative director Albert Kriemler‘s dialogue with art and architecture, as well as with designers and filmmakers, fosters the enduring modernity of the designs. Due to his exceptional understanding of materials, cut, and color, even audacious creations appear “selbstverstandlich” (effortless). The exhibition examines the inspirations behind the internationally renowned St. Gallen fashion house as well as the intricate craftsmanship and technical processes behind the collections.
