In a grand celebration of its 5-year anniversary, ROTATE is embarking on a worldwide tour, accompanied by the exciting launch of their second Holiday capsule collection, featuring the acclaimed actress and fashion icon, Jessie Andrews.
HOLIDAY SEASON
ROTATE’s 5-year anniversary is not just about revelry; it’s a comprehensive exploration of a significant milestone, marked by spectacular events in global cities and exciting collaborations with luxury stores worldwide. Notable highlights include the unveiling of a shop-in-shop at Kadewe in Berlin on November 8th, an 80-square-meter space at Printemps Paris on November 10th, and a 5th-anniversary pop-up store at Bloomingdale’s in Dubai on November 16th.
Over the past five years, ROTATE has assumed a leadership role in the fashion industry, featuring biannual fashion shows at Copenhagen Fashion Week, showcasing top models and icons like Lisa Rinna. The brand has also received prestigious accolades, including the ‘Brand to Watch’ title from Lyst.com in 2020 and Forbes Magazine in 2019. In the same year, it was honored with the ‘Brand of the Year’ award at the Elle Style Awards. In 2022, ROTATE’s partnerships with globally recognized retailers, such as Browns, Luisa Via Roma, Bergdorf Goodman, Selfridges, Net-a-Porter, and Mytheresa, contributed to its remarkable growth.
ROTATE has not only made waves in the physical fashion world but has ventured into the digital realm, embracing Augmented Reality (AR) and launching highly sought-after NFTs. In 2022, they made a groundbreaking move by partnering with iFland, one of Korea’s largest metaverse platforms.
Thora Valdimars and Jeanette Madsen, Creative Directors of ROTATE, reflect on their journey: “When we began this journey with the brand, it was just the two of us, a designer and a pattern maker. In the early days, we noticed a gap in the market for sexy dresses and felt the need for women to embrace their sensuality and take center stage in their lives. This was a personal belief, and it’s what sets our brand apart. We take great pride in all we’ve achieved, from our dresses being worn by the celebrities we admire to selling our products in the stores we personally shop at. We’ve built a strong online presence through our innovative marketing team and established valuable relationships with top editors, influencers, and stylists.”
Denise Christensen, CEO of Birger Christensen Collective, adds: “In the spirit of ROTATE’s 5th anniversary, we’re introducing an array of exciting activations in luxury stores worldwide, starting in Berlin, Paris, and Dubai. These events mark a new chapter in our global expansion. Over the past five years, ROTATE has showcased remarkable growth, evolving from a promising collaboration to a thriving global fashion brand.”
As part of the 5th-anniversary celebration, ROTATE is introducing a second Holiday collection dedicated to the party season. This collection seamlessly combines veneration for the brand’s iconic sequins with fresh interpretations like holographic sequins illuminating vibrant lace fabrics. Silhouettes draw inspiration from the ’90s, featuring maxi-length skirts, second-skin bodycon dresses, cargo pants, latex shirting, peplum tops, baggy parachute pants, and the newly iconic side cut-out mini dress.
The collection also features a range of faux fur jackets, available in simple black and striking pink, accentuating the main collection.
The campaign, shot by photographer Ibrahim Elhinaid, is set within the ROTATE showroom, situated at the intersection of Invalides, the Eiffel Tower, and Champs Elysées. Jessie Andrews embodies the essence of glamour and sensuality, epitomizing the ultimate ROTATE woman.
The ROTATE Holiday 2024 collection will be available online and at selected retailers starting in November 2023, with prices ranging from €100 to €660. As ROTATE continues to make its mark on the global fashion scene, it aims to expand into new markets, offer a wider range of styles, and push the boundaries of creativity.
