K-pop idol Hyunjin, of Stray Kids, radiates the quintessential Versace charm in the brand’s Holiday 2023 campaign, his first campaign since his induction as a Versace Global Brand Ambassador. This festive season, Versace and Hyunjin unfold a narrative of elegance, fun, and the brand’s indomitable attitude. Angelo Pennetta‘s photography and Rosie Marks‘ videography frame the star amidst an array of Versace’s holiday offerings – from the Barocco-adorned ready-to-wear to the impeccably tailored evening wear and high winter coats that are perfect for the season’s gifting. For the campaign Hyunjin was joined by Amelia Gray, Hedi Ben Tekaya, and Sacha Quenby. In charge of styling was Jacob K, with casting direction from Piergiorgio Del Moro.
“I wanted to celebrate Joy with this Holiday campaign – the joy of the season and being surrounded by those we love. I am thrilled Hyunjin has become part of our Versace Family. I love his energy and the joyful spirit he brings to these images.” — Donatella Versace
The campaign marks the debut of the new Athena tote bags. These bags highlight the grandeur of Versace’s Barocco print into the realm of the everyday with soft, tone-on-tone hues that articulate a contemporary chic. The Barocco print itself, first seen at the 1991 Versace runway, has evolved from its vibrant origins to encapsulate a festive spirit through pop-cultural flair and classical rebellion, now presented in fresh tones that lend a modern twist to the signature style.
With the launch of the Athena, Hyunjin showcases the essence of holiday festivities through Versace’s lens of luxury and craftsmanship, echoing the House’s commitment to creativity and expression. This collection sees the iconic print across a variety of textiles – from the lace inserts on enver satin evening gowns to jacquards in knitwear and tailored outerwear, down to laser-printed Versace denim.
“Versace is exactly how I want the Holiday season to be – it’s exciting, looks amazing, feels incredible, and is shared with good friends. That is how I felt making this campaign with my Versace family. Thank you Donatella, you are the best!” — Hyunjin
This season, Versace introduces several new items with the same timeless appeal. The Greca Goddess hobo bag reimagines the House’s classic design with new material finishes, while the Gianni Ribbon slingback pumps pay homage to Versace’s heritage with an archival satin ribbon bow. The Medusa ’95 loafers and the updated Greca Sneakers enhance the everyday with full day-to-evening versatility and the signature Barocco print. The Elios men’s shoe line blends the formal with the casual, combining high-sheen leather with a laid-back rubber sole for ultimate luxury and wearability.
With Hyunjin at the forefront, Versace’s Holiday campaign is a bold reiteration of the brand’s legacy – infusing the warmth of the holiday season with the allure and opulence of one of fashion’s most iconic houses.
