MACH & MACH‘s Fall Winter 2024 collection, “The Girl Through Peter Lindbergh’s Lenses,” is a tribute to the contrasts and raw beauty of the 1990s, as captured by the legendary German fashion photographer. This collection is a homage to a time when grunge met glamour on the streets, that model Michaela Berçu portrayed through Lindbergh’s black and white imagery. The designs reflect the provocative, refined, and bold nuances that characterized Lindbergh’s work, groundbreaking for its time.
At the heart of the collection are the “Big Stone Crystal” sandals and slingbacks, where oversized clear and pink crystals wrap around the feet, creating a contrast against colorful satin or mirror-like silver leather. The addition of a life-size pink bow at the heel is a nod to MACH & MACH’s iconic design element, giving the footwear a sense of dramatic flair.
The grunge attitude of the era is referenced in the “Crystal Studs” range, which includes sandals and slingbacks that give the brand’s signature bow a sleek, edgy makeover. Adorned with rounded studs and crystals, these pieces stand out on materials ranging from satin and mirror-like silver leather to clear PVC.
Further expanding on the theme of juxtaposition, the “Galaxy” collection introduces mid-heeled satin pumps decorated with a rounded crystal brooch, symbolizing infinity, alongside womanly riding boots and penny loafers embellished with the same brooch. The “Sirene” lineup polishes this look with penny and lace-up loafers in black, decked out in white or black pearls, offering a refined edge. The collection’s clutch bags are rigid and rectangular, sparkle with crystals and bold rhinestones, topped with a bow-shaped clasp.
