Heron Preston and H&M have announced a partnership named H2, unveiling their debut collection set for release on March 14, 2024. This collaboration is aimed at balancing product development, people engagement, and process innovation. Central to this initiative is the empowerment of young creative talent through a circular innovation program, reinforcing both Heron Preston’s and H&M’s dedication to sustainable fashion practices.
The first H2 collection is about everyday style, with Heron Preston’s design that emphasizes utility, durability, and cultural relevance. With the products ranging from boxy reversible bomber jackets made of 100% Nylon to long-sleeve racing-style jerseys crafted from 100% recycled polyester, the collection has an underlying theme of “Unity.” This theme is expressed through a design narrative that spans across various pieces, including versatile reversible hoodies, straight-cut denim jeans with recycled cotton content, and a range of women’s apparel such as bodysuits, lace-up corsets, and more.
In conjunction with the collection launch, the H2 EXCHANGE program is introduced as a platform for circular fashion innovation. The initiative starts with an open call for young designers in New York, offering them the opportunity to work alongside Heron Preston to create upcycled fashion pieces from donated clothing. This program aims to instill a circular mindset among new designers and contribute to H&M’s ongoing circular initiatives by promoting community engagement and learning experiences in sustainable fashion.
