The Brooklyn based brand MSCHF has announced a release of their 2×4 boots along with a campaign with Spike Lee. The boots themselves, with their unique design that borrows from the classic Timberland silhouette, feature a doubled rubber lug sole that serves both as the base and the upper part of the boots, coupled with details such as eyelets and motifs reminiscent of Louis Vuitton’s Blossom pattern.
Central to the MSCHF campaign is the involvement of Spike Lee, an icon known for his contributions to film and social commentary. He models the boots in images captured by his daughter, Satchel Lee, with the streets of New York City as the location.
Following the viral success of the Big Red Boot and the legal controversy surrounding the “Wavy Baby” shoes, the brand has a reputation for challenging the status quo, by consistently pushing the boundaries of design and engaging in practices that blur the lines between copyright infringement and artistic homage.
The 2×4 boots are set to release on March 19 at 2 p.m. EST, available exclusively through MSCHF’s website and sneaker app, and priced at $400. Take a more detailed look at the MSCHF 2×4 boots in the Gallery below:
