Neil Barrett ’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection elevates the everyday through fragments of classic tailoring, fabrics, and ideology. Drawing inspiration from iconic figures like Cary Grant, Jay Gatsby, and James Bond, Barrett reimagines the suiting breast-pocket and white handkerchief, symbols of timeless elegance. In this collection, these sartorial emblems are creatively applied to unexpected garments such as tees, shirts, sweats, and Harrington jackets, transforming formal suiting details into versatile, decorative elements. Photographer Daniele Mango captured an exclusive backstage glimpse at the show for DSCENE Magazine, showcasing the unique blend of function and decoration.

The collection features luxurious and deluxe fabrics that shift context to elevate outerwear, blazers, shirting, and pants. The sheen of Duchesse satin and the light structure of taffeta are infused with technical elements, altering how these garments sit on the body and changing their form. These high-end materials are contrasted with classic cotton poplin and drill, adding a touch of purity and honesty to the collection. This juxtaposition of fabrics highlights Barrett’s skill in blending traditional and modern elements to create innovative and sophisticated pieces.
The color palette is both focused and enriched with unexpected brights. Shades of navy, light greys, and neutrals are complemented by vibrant jewel tones like alabaster pink, burgundy, ochre, and gold. This infusion of bright colors brings an element of surprise and excitement to the collection. Building on a concept introduced last season, Barrett integrates shirt garters into outerwear and other garments, transforming how they are worn. This innovation frees up the hands and forearms, imparting a sense of movement, purpose, and freshness. The collection as a whole reflects an elevation of workwear and purpose, combining functionality with refined elegance.
