With the fourth season of The Bear confirmed and coming, the story of Carmy, Sydney, and the rest of the crew at The Bear restaurant continues. While FX has not officially announced the exact release date for Season 4, it’s likely that it will premiere during the summer of 2025, aligning with the show’s previous release patterns, where seasons have debuted in June each year.

It will be interesting to see how the narration evolves, as it seems that the format and focus of each season changes, especially when comparing the second and third seasons. The first season felt quite light in comparison to the later ones, introducing the story and characters with a good deal of comic relief. The second season becomes more serious as we learn more about the characters and follow their intense journey of renovating and opening the new Bear restaurant. The second season ends with a bang, further complicating the relationships and lives of the characters. The third season then takes an unexpected turn, seemingly leaving the restaurant story in the background and focusing more on the characters and their personal lives. All of this leaves us with uncertain but exciting expectations for the upcoming continuation of the series.
The Bear season 4 is expected to pick up where the emotionally intense third season left off, dealing with unresolved plotlines and character developments. The main focus will likely be on the repercussions of the Chicago Tribune’s restaurant review, which was teased at the very end of the previous season. Additionally, the strained financial situation of Jimmy and its effects on the restaurant’s operations will probably be a central concern.
The character dynamics are gonna evolve, particularly concerning Sydney’s career decisions, Carmy’s relationship with Claire, which only became more uncertain through out the last season and the complex bonds between Carmy and Richie. Richie’s relationship with his ex-wife Tiffany may also be explored in greater depth. Natalie, now adjusting to motherhood, could face new challenges, and another member of The Bear’s staff might be the focus of a dedicated episode, similar to the bottle episodes in previous seasons.
The main cast is expected to return, including Jeremy Allen White as Carmy, Ayo Edebiri as Sydney, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie. Recurring characters and guest stars from Season 3 may also reappear, but we will have to wait and see who they are.
