Rabanne Spring Summer 25 collection, presented by Julien Dossena, brought a fresh approach to everyday wear combined with exquisite craftsmanship. The collection debuted at the Palais de Tokyo on a rainy Paris day, with models showcasing layered jackets, half-buttoned shirts, and boxy silhouettes that Dossena humorously described as “a box with legs.” Celebrities like Cardi B, Camila Cabello, Gigi Hadid, Ed Westwick, and Ana Dello Russo were in attendance, adding extra buzz to the event. Photographer Macky Mann was present to capture exclusive portraits of attendees for DSCENE Magazine.
One unforgettable moment was the unveiling of a gold leaf mini dress. As the model walked, delicate pieces of gold floated into the air, captivating the audience. This piece was paired with a gold Nano bag from 1969, reflecting Dossena’s exploration of materials. Other pieces, such as silver foil finishes, beaded basketball shorts, and geometric chain-link tops, felt like a nod to Paco Rabanne’s 1960s designs while still feeling entirely current.
A trio of unique bags made an impact as well, each reinterpreting a 1969 Rabanne design. One bag was made from fired white ceramic by Astier de Villatte, another from Murano glass, and the third from 18-karat gold coins. These pieces were paired with matching minidresses, creating a memorable visual experience that pushed the boundaries of traditional accessories.
Dossena also took inspiration from the 1995 film Safe, particularly its color palette and themes around packaging. Layers of soft pastels, chainmail skirts paired with t-shirts, and wrapped silhouettes echoed the idea of clothing as a form of wrapping or protection. Dossena’s attention to contrast—hard versus soft, intricate versus simple—offered a fresh take on modern femininity, with each piece feeling practical yet fashion-forward.
