Nike Skateboarding is teaming up with the College Skateboarding Educational Foundation (CSEF) for a new release of the SB Dunk Low Pro, set to drop on May 3 for $135. The collaboration merges academic symbolism with skate identity, offering a sneaker built around the mission of supporting skateboarders pursuing college degrees. Founded in 2017, CSEF has provided scholarships to students from the skate community, raising $90,000 in 2024 alone.
The shoe features a white and black leather upper, with the Swoosh logos finished in glossy black patent. Color accents include CSEF’s signature green and yellow, which appear subtly throughout the design, referencing the foundation’s visual identity. While the core palette is minimal, details like a tri-colored sole and pink abrasion-reveal underlayer give the shoe additional depth.

True to the project’s academic theme, the heel tab uses collegiate-style typography, reminiscent of varsity jackets and school insignias. The sockliner is printed with custom illustrations that combine school motifs with skate graphics. A unique lace option – yellow with a graphite-colored tip – draws direct reference to a No. 2 pencil, reinforcing the scholastic theme. In another nod to graduation season, the shoe includes a miniature tassel, attached to one of the lace eyelets as a removable accessory.
Beneath the surface, high-contact panels are designed to wear down over time, revealing a pink layer underneath, inspired by the color of pencil erasers. This design element adds a hidden, interactive feature for skateboarders who regularly put their shoes through wear and tear. The slimmer tongue differentiates this release from traditional SB Dunks, giving it a lighter feel while still retaining adequate padding for board control.

The Nike SB Dunk Low x CSEF actively supports the foundation’s cause. Profits from the release contribute to ongoing efforts to fund scholarships for skateboarders who want to continue their education. Since its creation, CSEF has redefined what support looks like in skateboarding, shifting focus from competition and sponsorships to academic opportunity. The pair launches May 3 through select skate shops and Nike SNKRS.
