Ann Demeulemeester is a Belgian fashion house for men and women, established in 1985 by its eponymous designer and member of the Antwerp Six group.
She graduated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1981, and year after, she won the Gouden Spoel prize for the year's most promising fashion designer.
In 1985, she launched her own line, Ann Demeulemeester, with husband Patrick Robyn and presented her first collection in a Parisian art gallery.
Her style is instantly recognizable, drawing influence from gothic, punk, and Japanese styles while still remaining true to her own ideas.
In 2013, she left her eponymous fashion house and French designer Sébastien Meunier was appointed the artistic director of the brand.
