Louis Vuitton unveils a bespoke FIA Formula One World Championship Trophy Trunk in honor of Formula 1’s 75th anniversary, solidifying its ongoing partnership with the motorsport. The trunk will be presented at the F1 75 event at The O2 in London, where all ten teams, drivers, and Team Principals will come together with fans to reveal their 2025 liveries for the first time. This occasion marks a rare gathering of the sport’s key figures, adding to the anticipation surrounding the event.

At the end of the season, the trunk will house the championship trophy, awarded to the year’s top driver. Crafted in Louis Vuitton’s historic Asnières workshop in France, the design reflects the House’s long-standing expertise in producing custom trunks for prestigious sporting events. The piece features hand-painted black and white Damier panels, symbolizing both Formula 1 colors and the checkered finish line, while a bold V, standing for both “Victory” and “Vuitton,” embellishes the front panels. Inside, the trunk is lined with black leather and microfiber to ensure the trophy remains protected. The exterior maintains Louis Vuitton’s signature brass corner protectors, locks, and clasps, a nod to the craftsmanship that has defined the brand since the 1860s.

Louis Vuitton’s connection to the automotive world dates back to 1897, when Georges Vuitton recognized the shift toward automobile travel and designed one of the first trunks specifically for cars. To withstand exposure to the elements, he introduced a durable coated canvas known as “Vuittonite”, a material that would eventually evolve into the House’s now-iconic monogram canvas. This foresight laid the foundation for Louis Vuitton’s continued presence in the automotive and motorsport space, where it has maintained a lasting association.
