Loewe has announced Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez as the new creative directors of the house. Known for founding the New York-based label Proenza Schouler, the duo will step into their new roles on April 7, 2025. They will oversee all collections for Loewe, including womenswear, menswear, leather goods, and accessories.
The announcement marks a significant moment for Loewe, which seeks to continue its evolution while remaining grounded in its long-standing identity. McCollough and Hernandez bring with them a reputation built on more than two decades of shaping contemporary fashion through craft-focused design and close engagement with cultural shifts. Their arrival at Loewe follows a period of critical acclaim for their work, including multiple awards from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
The two designers first met while studying at Parsons School of Design and launched Proenza Schouler soon after. Their senior thesis collection garnered immediate attention, earning them the title of ‘Designers of the Year’ upon graduation. Since then, their collaborative work has received five CFDA awards, spanning both overall design and accessories.
In appointing McCollough and Hernandez, Loewe affirms a focus on design that values both technique and cultural awareness. Their creative method, which often involves deep material research and conceptual thinking, has played a key role in defining the direction of their own label, and now positions them well to take on the full creative responsibility at Loewe.

Pascale Lepoivre, CEO of Loewe, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment: “I am delighted to welcome Jack and Lazaro to Loewe. Their vision and creativity are a perfect match for the codes of the house that we have built, and I am excited to see them shape its future.” Lepoivre’s comments reflect a confidence that the designers will not only continue the work of their predecessor, Jonathan Anderson, but also bring fresh ideas to a house known for its craft-driven focus.
McCollough and Hernandez shared their excitement in a joint statement. “We are incredibly honoured to join Loewe, a house whose values and mission align closely with our own. We look forward to working alongside its extraordinary teams and artisans, whose talent – under the exceptional creative direction of Jonathan Anderson – has shaped Loewe into the cultural force it is today.” They also extended thanks to Bernard Arnault, Delphine Arnault, Sidney Toledano, and Pascale Lepoivre for giving them the opportunity to lead one of fashion’s most respected houses.
Sidney Toledano, CEO of LVMH Fashion Group, praised the pair’s background and approach: “I have long admired Jack and Lazaro’s work at Proenza Schouler. Their eclectic creativity and dedication to craft make them a natural choice to build the next chapter for Loewe. I look forward to seeing them lead the evolution of the house.”
this is wild! But the rumour was out there. This is quite a big chunk they chewed in, and i would not be in their skin. I can see them being able to do this, but Proenza was nowhere on the radar for almost a decade.
