Nigel Sylvester expands his creative influence with Brick by Brick, his latest collaboration with Jordan line. This collection reflects both his personal story and the architectural essence of New York City, where the reddish brick buildings stand as a symbol of resilience and strength. The release introduces an exclusive Firewood Orange Air Jordan 4, marking the first time this colorway has been used on the silhouette, alongside his debut apparel line featuring BMX jerseys, jackets, T-shirts, and pants. The collection also includes a New Era “Brick By Brick” 59FIFTY fitted hat series, paying homage to NYC’s baseball culture with black for the Yankees and a brick-red nod to the Mets.
A Campaign Rooted in Influence and Legacy
Sylvester’s Brick by Brick campaign was designed as an immersive experience, filled with high-profile events and strategic activations. To build momentum ahead of the official launch, select pairs of the sneakers were gifted to notable figures across entertainment and sports, including LeBron James, Jalen Brunson, The Game, and G-Eazy. Content creator JazzysWorldTV was also featured in exclusive campaign videos, documenting the sneaker’s cultural impact. Jake from State Farm appeared on a Kai Cenat Twitch stream to present the sneakers during a live giveaway, stating, “This represents everything you’ve done – brick by brick – showing love to your people.”

A Multi-Layered Rollout Across NYC and Beyond
To introduce the collection to the public, Nigel Sylvester orchestrated a series of large-scale activations. The campaign began with an eye-catching stunt in which he rode through New York City in a giant brick-themed truck, bringing the concept to life in motion. The energy continued with an exclusive dinner and fashion show at The Standard, High Line, attended by J Balvin, Lena Waithe, A$AP Ferg, and Hasan Minhaj. Sponsored by Don Julio, the night brought together key figures from music, fashion, and entertainment in celebration of Sylvester’s latest work.
On March 8, the campaign returned to Queens, New York, where Sylvester unveiled the collection at an 80s-inspired “Ann & Sons” pop-up shop on Jamaica Avenue’s Colosseum block. The space was a personal tribute to his mother, Ann, who often took him shopping there as a child. The event drew a strong crowd, with appearances from Candis Grace, Shiggy, and Murda Mook, who, alongside Loaded Lux, created an original freestyle titled Nigel’s Frame of Mind – a lyrical piece exploring important moments in Sylvester’s career.
The campaign extended globally, concluding with a Tokyo meet-and-greet at Kith, where Sylvester connected with fans in Japan, reinforcing his international reach.
A Vision for BMX and Streetwear
Sylvester has long been recognized for pushing the boundaries of BMX culture beyond sport, merging it with fashion, art, and business. Speaking about the collection, he shared, “With this collection, I wanted to explore the concept of futuristic BMX apparel. The Jordan Brand design team and I focused on telling the story through silhouettes, functionality, and materials. Every detail was carefully considered and thoughtfully crafted.” He added that this collaboration represents the evolution of BIKE AIR.

Expanding Influence in Fashion and Culture
Sylvester is Jordan Brand’s first and only professional BMX athlete, a relationship that has lasted over a decade. In addition to his footwear collaborations, he has built a reputation as a creative director and entrepreneur. He made his directorial debut with “Grandma’s Driveway”, a visual campaign reflecting his personal journey, and was named Creative Advisor for New Era Cap in 2024. His influence extends into high fashion, having partnered with Louis Vuitton, Moncler, and Rimowa, where he designed a custom BMX travel case.
What’s Next for Nigel Sylvester
The Brick by Brick collection marks Sylvester’s seventh collaboration with Jordan Brand, with more projects in development for 2025. He is set to host the third annual GO Ride, his signature transatlantic bike ride, which will once again unite BMX riders and fans across multiple cities.
