Alcova returns to Milan from April 7 to 13, 2025, pushing further into new territory while reinforcing the city’s dynamic role in contemporary design. For its ninth edition, the project activates four distinctive locations in Varedo, continuing its expansion into spaces that invite experimentation and reinterpretation.
This year’s venues include the return of Villa Borsani and Villa Bagatti Valsecchi, introduced in 2024, and the debut of two additions, the former SNIA factory and the Pasino Glasshouses. Each site brings its own rhythm and texture, offering designers a stage where architectural memory and natural reclamation can shape new creative output.

Located next to Villa Bagatti Valsecchi inside an outdoor hippodrome, the Pasino Glasshouses once supported one of Europe’s largest white orchid cultivations. Now, the structure takes on a new role as an exhibition space for site-sensitive installations. Participants in this space include AVAU, David Aliperti x SoMad.NYC, Greek Marble x Objects of Common Interest, Marcin Rusak Studio, News & Coffee x St. Moritz, Sema Topaloğlu Studio, Terraformæ, and Terzofoco ceramics.

The SNIA site once led global synthetic fiber production and still bears the scale and order of rationalist industrial architecture. Now partially overtaken by vegetation, the structure enters a new chapter. Alcova positions this space as a place for dialogue between decay and renewal.
Here, Burg Giebichenstein University for Art and Design Halle, Decibel x Vizcom, Habitare, Ranieri, SPREAD, and Warm Weekend (Mathias Palazzi and Robinson Guillermet) contribute installations that speak to the site’s raw edges.

Alcova brings contemporary design into Villa Bagatti Valsecchi’s mix of formal halls, quiet chambers, and tucked-away grottoes. The 19th-century villa offers a network of spaces that support large installations as well as subtle interventions. This year’s expansive lineup features 11 (eleven), Aleksandra Jakuć, AnanasAnanas x Parasite 2.0, ARTESANOS, Basetale, Belgium is Design, Bohinc Studio, Bokrijk | VAKlab x Michaël Verheyden, Centre for Creativity, Museum of Architecture and Design, Darmes, Dekoriti TC, DI PALMA for IL PICCOLO, Diaphan Studio, and Dunie Studio.
