Sportswear brand PUMA has teamed up once again with pop superstar Dua Lipa, placing the singer front and center in a campaign that takes the Speedcat sneaker for a spin through the desert. Shot along a winding American highway, the video feature Lipa in a classic car, stopping at roadside diners and motels while sporting various versions of the revived Speedcat silhouette.
The campaign arrives ahead of the sneaker’s next drop, which includes updated colorways and styles. First introduced 25 years ago as a motorsport-inspired design, the Speedcat originally drew on Formula 1 footwear aesthetics, prioritizing a low profile, suede construction, and narrow shape. Its recent reissue in summer 2024 brought renewed attention to the model, quickly selling out and generating demand for new versions.

Lipa wears the sneaker in a new “Brown” variant, styled with fitted racing suits and cropped tops that reference the shoe’s original motorsport roots. Alongside this edition, PUMA is also releasing the Speedcat in “Haute Coffee,” a rich brown tone, and “Royal Blue.” A Speedcat Ballerina version will also be available, reshaping the silhouette into a more minimal, dance-inspired form.
While the campaign emphasizes spontaneity and freedom, it also marks PUMA’s strategy to bring archival models back into focus. The Speedcat was originally developed in the late 1990s for performance in the pit lane but eventually made its way into casual footwear rotations.

The next wave of Speedcat releases lands on April 10, 2025, and will be available through PUMA.com, the brand’s flagship retail locations, and select global stockists. The campaign continues PUMA’s ongoing collaboration with Dua Lipa, extending the pop star’s association with the brand through footwear storytelling rooted in movement, speed, and visual identity.
