Nike is reintroducing the Gato with a vivid new identity for Summer 2025, unveiling the Liquid Gold edition – a reflective take on the brand’s classic indoor soccer silhouette. Known for its heritage on futsal courts, the Gato is shifting into a lifestyle spotlight with this gilded update that recalls early 2000s aesthetics while reinforcing performance design elements.
The upper features metallic gold leather panels stitched in a quilted pattern across the toe, creating a textured and structured surface. Perforated mesh appears on both side panels and the tongue, enhancing breathability while maintaining a visually layered construction. The quarter Swoosh is surrounded by geometric cutouts, giving the design a technical, performance-forward look that echoes retro football boots.

White Nike logos are printed at the tongue and heel, providing visual contrast against the saturated gold palette. A full-length white Cushlon midsole sits between the luminous upper and a gum rubber outsole, which preserves the original indoor traction configuration. This pairing of foam and tread ensures both comfort and durability, keeping the shoe grounded in its futsal roots.
The “Liquid Gold” is one of two metallic colorways planned for the Gato silhouette in 2025, alongside a silver-toned “Chrome” version. Nike’s decision to reintroduce the Gato comes as interest in indoor-soccer-inspired footwear continues to rise.

Set to arrive in men’s sizing, the Nike Gato “Liquid Gold” is priced at $110 and will release via Nike SNKRS and select retailers in Summer 2025. The expected drop window runs from April through June. This version of the Gato fuses nostalgic references with contemporary style codes, designed to appeal to sneaker enthusiasts drawn to metallic finishes and early-2000s influences.
