Fresh off his recent performance at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena, Swedish artist Yung Lean returns with a striking new visual and single titled “Babyface Maniacs”, the second release from his upcoming album Jonatan, due out May 2. Where last month’s “Forever Yung” leaned into euphoria and momentum, “Babyface Maniacs” pulls the mood downward, into something more fragmented, surreal, and emotionally exposed.

Directed by longtime collaborator Leo Siboni, the accompanying video finds Lean cast as a fallen hero navigating a bleak, dystopian terrain. Dressed in a color-blocked tracksuit, he drifts through half-ruined environments while arrows rain down, unrelenting and symbolic. The visual speaks less to action than aftermath, capturing a character caught between memory and myth, escape and confrontation.
Lyrically, the track oscillates between withdrawal and provocation: “I’m on the run, on the run from everyone / We’re on the run, come on and grab your gun, let’s have some fun,” Lean chants on the hook, threading together elements of nihilism, absurdity, and loneliness that have long defined his artistic voice. The track’s production supports this disorientation, building an atmosphere that feels slow-burning and expansive, rich with echoes and melancholic texture.
“Babyface Maniacs” marks a notable shift from the energy of “Forever Yung,” offering a glimpse into the layered, introspective tone of Jonatan. If the lead single celebrated Lean’s mythos, this one questions it, tugging at the seams of identity and persona.
In addition to the single and video drop, Yung Lean has announced an international tour in support of Jonatan, beginning October 4 in Detroit and spanning major North American and European cities through late November. The tour includes stops at venues such as the Brooklyn Mirage, Fox Theater Oakland, OVO Arena Wembley, and Zénith Paris – La Villette, with full dates listed below.
As anticipation for Jonatan builds, “Babyface Maniacs” confirms Lean’s continued evolution as an artist unafraid to unravel his own image. The track is available now on all major streaming platforms.
