The Air Jordan 14 Ferrari returns this June, bringing back one of the most recognizable non-OG colorways in the Jordan archive. First released in 2014, the sneaker stood out for its direct inspiration from Italian sports cars and its vivid red colorway. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the silhouette took cues from the Ferrari 550M, aligning with Michael Jordan’s interest in high-performance automotive engineering. The 2025 edition preserves the design and structure of the original and introduces grade school sizing for the first time.
Design
The upper features a one-piece Varsity Red suede construction with smooth texture and uninterrupted lines that recall the curves of a sports car body. Black details appear on the tongue, collar lining, and rear panel, setting up a sharp contrast against the red base. A yellow circular Jumpman badge is placed on the lateral collar, shaped to resemble a car emblem. Chrome detailing is visible on the midsole shank plate, reinforcing the sneaker’s mechanical design cues.
The heel features a black triangular insert with a yellow Jumpman logo at the top and a yellow “23” directly below. The triangle is shaped to reference a car’s rear tail light, a detail that ties the back of the shoe into the automotive concept that drives the overall silhouette.
The sculpted sidewalls and low-profile build contribute to the shoe’s aerodynamic structure. Faux carbon fiber panels wrap the midsole and arch areas, while the outsole features a curved design built for responsive traction. The overall form stays consistent with performance intentions but delivers strong visual identity off the court as well.

Cushioning and Structure
The black Phylon midsole houses Zoom Air units in the forefoot and heel, offering lightweight, responsive cushioning. An exposed chrome shank plate runs through the midfoot, providing stability and extending the shoe’s technical look. Traction zones on the outsole support performance movement, though this model is more often worn as a lifestyle piece today. The materials, construction, and overall proportions of the 2025 release remain aligned with the 2014 original.

Historical Context
When the Air Jordan 14 Ferrari debuted in 2014, it quickly gaining attention for its bright red suede upper and design inspired by Ferrari sports cars. At the time, all-red sneakers were dominating sneaker culture, and this model offered both trend alignment and a deeper design narrative. Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler, then a Jordan Brand athlete, wore the shoe on-court, helping to raise its visibility.
Over the years, its aftermarket value has stayed high, with original pairs consistently trading above retail. The colorway’s popularity helped establish the Air Jordan 14 “Ferrari” as one of the strongest non-original entries in the Jordan retro catalog.
